C5 Fuel Pump Kit, T6 RXP255JE
High-Performance Fuel System Kit
1997 - Early 2003 Corvette C5
Precision Engineered Reliability
The RFPK-055-255 is the definitive fuel system upgrade for the early C5 Corvette. Featuring our Gen-2 6061-T6 anodized aluminum reservoir and a high-flow RXP-255JE turbine pump, this kit is designed to eliminate the fuel starvation and heat-related failures common with factory plastic modules. By utilizing a modular, serviceable design, we provide a system that grows with your vehicle while maintaining 100% compatibility with all fuel types, including E85.
Gen-2 Pump Assembly
- RXP-255JE Turbine: High-pressure turbine capable of stable flow for performance applications.
- Advanced Jet Pump Integration: Maintains a full reservoir regardless of tank level to prevent pump cavitation.
- 6061-T6 Anodized Aluminum: Provides active thermal management and 50% more surge volume than stock.
- Fully Serviceable: The modular design allows for complete disassembly and cleaning.
- E85 Optimized: 100% compatible with all ethanol blends and racing fuels.
28-Amp Redundant Electrical
- Redundant Architecture: Utilizes dual 14-gauge positive paths to double the factory current capacity.
- FPWH-052 HD Hotwire: Features Heavy-Duty 630-series 40A hardware for maximum voltage delivery.
- PBIC-001 Booster Interface: Includes connector set for plug-and-play integration of pump voltage boosters (e.g., Kenne Bell BAP).
- ITWH-055 In-Tank Harness: Teflon-insulated E85-compatible wiring with redundant leads.
- BCA-4W Bulkhead: Heavy-duty replacement bulkhead specifically pinned for redundant current.
255-Series Horsepower Support Estimates
| Fuel Type | Naturally Aspirated | Forced Induction |
| Gasoline | ~550-600 HP | ~450-500 HP |
| E85 (Ethanol) | ~400-450 HP | ~300-350 HP |
*Estimates based on 58 PSI base pressure. Applications exceeding these levels should consider the Racetronix 450-series kit.
Level Sensor Alert
Check or replace your fuel level sensor during installation to ensure gauge accuracy. Sulfur contamination is a common failure point on C5 sensors.
Leak Prevention
We highly recommend a new FSGK-C5 (97-99) or FSGK-C5A (00-03) seal and bolt kit to ensure a leak-free seal.
Technical FAQ & Installation Notes
Q: I have installed the harness and module, but the pump will not turn on. What is the most likely cause?
A: The most common installation error is failing to connect the High-Current Ground Terminals to the tank perimeter bolts. Because we have relocated the pump grounds to offload heat from the bulkhead connector, the pump will not have a complete circuit until these ring terminals are securely fastened to the metal fuel tank flange. Ensure the mounting surface is clean and providing a solid electrical ground.
Q: Can I install the wiring or pump separately?
A: No. This is an integrated system. The bulkhead pinout is reconfigured for redundant 28-amp power. The new module will not work with factory wiring, and the new harness will not work with a factory pump.
Q: Is an aftermarket regulator required for this kit?
A: While the 255 kit works with factory regulators, users moving toward high-HP expansion or requiring 1:1 manifold referencing should consider the FLK-C5 Fuel Line & Rail Kit.
Q: Why does my electronic fuel pressure gauge show low pressure when hot?
A: Rail-mounted electronic sensors are prone to heat soak, causing false low readings. Always verify system health with a liquid-filled mechanical gauge at the Schrader port during troubleshooting.
Q: How do I ensure the BCA-4W bulkhead is oriented correctly?
A: Alignment is critical. Match the E, B, C, D markings on the ITWH-055 in-tank harness with the corresponding molded letters in the center of the bulkhead top. Note: Edge letters A-D are for the HD Hotwire interface only.
