Technical Note: Flow Rating & Fluids
Bosch calibrates injectors using N-Heptane as a standard test fluid. However, most engines run on Gasoline, which has a higher density. We provide both ratings for transparency:
Volume (cc/min) = Mass Flow (g/min) ÷ Fluid Density (g/cc)
- N-Heptane (0.684 g/cc): 172 ÷ 0.684 = 251.5 cc/min (Industry Standard Rating)
- Gasoline (~0.720 g/cc): 172 ÷ 0.720 = 238.9 cc/min (Real World Estimate)
