C6 Corvette Dual Fuel Pump System, 900 LPH

Racetronix QFPS-C6-900

C6 Corvette Dual Fuel Pump System | 900 LPH E85 Engineered

The QFPS-C6-900 utilizes patented pump interlock technology to deliver a modular, high-volume fuel solution for the 2002.5-2013 Corvette. Engineered with 6061-T6 aluminum and 304 stainless steel, this "ship in a bottle" design allows for a dual-pump installation into the factory tank without permanent modifications. Supporting upwards of 1,000 RWHP on gasoline and 800 HP on E85, the QFPS-C6-900 provides elite-tier performance with a simplistic, scalable installation.

Pump Module Features & Specifications
  • Dual Walbro F90000274 Pumps: High-pressure, E85-optimized 450LPH pumps for maximum volumetric efficiency.
  • Viton (FKM) GF-600S O-Rings: Superior sealing technology providing enhanced resistance to Ethanol, oxygenated race fuels, and aggressive additives.
  • Billet CNC 6061-T6 Manifold: High-flow manifold featuring a -8 AN ORB Discharge Port (3/4"-16) and -6 AN ORB Return Port (9/16"-18).
  • 304 Stainless Steel Construction: Includes mounting shaft and level sensor mount with integrated routing guide for lifetime corrosion resistance.
  • Nickel/Bronze Grounding: Premium components ensure maximum electrical conductivity and safety.
  • Siphon System Integration: 5/16" pressure feed nipple maintains factory configuration for passenger-side siphon functionality.
  • Upgraded In-Tank Wiring: 12-Gauge PTFE (Teflon) pump wiring eliminates high-resistance points and ensures reliable current delivery.
Flow Rate:860 LPH+ @ 58 PSI @ 14.0V

Wiring & Ground Control Engineering
Heavy-Duty Electrical Architecture:

The QFPS-C6-900 features an over-engineered, plug-and-play wiring harness designed to eliminate voltage drop and ensure consistent pump RPM:

  • MP630-Series Relays: Dual 40-amp rated, high-current 630-series relays ensure reliable switching under extreme electrical loads.
  • Sealed Fuse Holders: Weatherproof, high-current fuse holders protect the dual 10-gauge primary circuits.
  • Advanced Ground Trigger Logic: Independent ground control via Control Loop Jumpers allows for:
    • Full-Time Activation: Jumper installed completes the circuit for PCM-positive trigger.
    • Pressure Switch Activation: Removing the jumper allows a Hobbs-style switch to complete the relay ground only under boost.
    • External ECU Control: Relay grounds can be triggered directly by aftermarket engine management outputs.
WOT Voltage Criticality: Fuel pump performance is highly voltage-sensitive. To guarantee specified flow, the vehicle must maintain 13.5V to 14.0V at Wide Open Throttle (WOT). A 1.0V drop can result in a 10-15% reduction in fuel volume.
Required & Recommended Support Components
Advanced Plumbing & Filtration:
  • Feed/Return Lines: -8 AN PTFE Feed / -6 AN PTFE Return.
  • Billet Filter Housing: Requires #12 Size Billet Filter Housing (Part # FILTER-1212B).
  • Filter Element: We recommend Part # FEM-1210 for maximum surface area and laminar flow.
  • Fuel Rails: Billet fuel rails with -8 AN ORB bore size.
  • Alternator: High-current alternator is required. We strongly recommend the Mechman 13969400 400-amp alternator.
Expert Advice & Technical Center
Fluid Dynamics: The Logic of Precision Staging

Racetronix advocates for the 100 HP Buffer as the absolute minimum requirement for staging—triggering the secondary pump 100 HP before the primary pump reaches its volumetric limit.

HP Capacity = (Pump Flow [LPH] × Fuel Density × 2.204) / BSFC

Critical Staging Considerations:

  • Fast-Ramping Engines: For engines with rapid boost curves, the 100 HP buffer must be increased to offset motor ramp-up time and prevent lean-out.
  • Pressure Spikes: Because volumetric flow is pressure-dependent, triggering the second pump too early can momentarily overwhelm the regulator's return capacity.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these systems tested before shipping? Every QFPS-C6-900 is fully serialized and validated on our in-house flow bench. We perform a comprehensive check of Voltage vs. Pressure vs. Current at 58 PSI and 80 PSI. This ensures 100% operational integrity and flow consistency out of the box.
Why does this system eliminate the factory plastic bucket? High-output multi-pump systems displace a significant volume of fuel. In factory hangers, the pumps can evacuate the bucket faster than the Venturi system can refill it during sustained WOT runs. Our Billet Interlock system draws directly from the tank’s baffled area, ensuring the pumps have access to the total fuel volume without bucket recovery limitations.
How does the QFPS-C6-900 manage pump noise and vibration? We utilize a dual O-ring "cushion" system within our billet clamping mechanism. These O-rings prevent any metal-to-metal contact between the pumps and the assembly, interrupting the vibration path to the tank. Combined with convoluted nylon tubing, this provides superior Acoustic Isolation (NVH) compared to standard hard-mounted hangers.
What is the "Ship in a Bottle" design advantage? Our Patented Interlock Design allows multiple pumps to pass through the narrow factory tank opening. Pumps are mounted on individual numbered brackets (1-4) that drop into the tank on a 304 stainless spine and "key" into each other. This modular sequencing provides a clear upgrade path from dual to quad systems without replacing the core module.
Why does Racetronix modify the factory Walbro pump wiring? Standard Metri-Pack 280 connectors can become a source of heat and voltage loss under high-load. To ensure maximum pump performance, Racetronix eliminates these connectors and ultrasonically bonds 12-gauge PTFE wire directly to the pump. This creates a continuous, high-current path from the motor to the bulkhead, removing thermal bottlenecks.
How does the proprietary FVMQ Bulkhead Seal prevent failure? Bulkhead connectors are common failure points. Racetronix upgrades the high-current 6-way Apex 2.8 connector (Part # RCS-096) with proprietary Yellow FVMQ (Fluorosilicone) seals. Unlike factory-issue blue silicone, FVMQ is chemically resistant to gasoline and alcohol, preventing swelling and disintegration to ensure the electrical terminals stay dry and corrosion-free.
What are the fuel level recommendations for competitive use? For both Drag Racing and Road Course applications, we recommend maintaining a minimum of 1/3 to 1/2 tank during competitive sessions. This "Safety Zone" ensures pump inlets remain adequately submerged during high G-loadings in any direction, preventing slosh-induced starvation.
