TECHNICAL Q&A
1. Is the Hobbs pressure switch included with the DP system?

A. A 15 PSI Hobbs pressure switch and interface harness are included with the system as standard equipment. 15PSI is the best pressure at which to activate the secondary fuel pump in most Turbo Buicks. Ideally the secondary pump should be activated approximately 100HP shy of the primary pump running out of fuel to prevent pressure spikes or lean conditions. Some customers have computers which can control both pumps via the jumpers (shown in our picture) on our dual harness. Some customers have upgraded return lines and chose to run both pumps all the time. We recommend using either your computer or our Hobbs switch to control the secondary pump. This reduces the electrical load, fuel heating and wear on the secondary pump. The primary and secondary pump may be easily switched by swapping the control jumpers if you wish to balance out the run-time on the pumps. The DP harness comes with both control jumpers plugged in as shown in our ad. In addition to this the DP harness comes with a Weather-Pack connector so you can interface the secondary pump control to your aftermarket computer or any pull-to-ground signal.

2. Can other pumps be used in the DP sender as an option?

A. This hanger can accommodate any 38mm body pump such as a 255, 340, 450 or 525LPH pump in single or dual configuration. Currently we are offering this system with 2 x Racetronix RXP255, 2 x Racetronix RXP340, 2 x Walbro F90000274 or 2 x F90000285 pumps. NOTE: WE DO NOT ACCEPT CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PUMPS TO BE INCORPORATED INTO OUR DP SYSTEM PERIOD!

3. Is this DP system E85 compatible?

A. The DFPS-G7700 DP hanger uses Racetronix RXP340E pumps which are 100% Ethanol compatible. True E85 factory certified systems have their electrical connections fully isolated from the fuel which is impossible given the Turbo Buick's tank design. Modern E85 Flex-Fuel systems are manufactured with special plastics and metals. Fuel system health will impact pump life.

4. Can I buy the entire DP system in a D-I-Y format?

A. We DO NOT offer this item as a D-I-Y kit.

5. I already have some other pumps. Can I use them with your system?

A. NOTE: DUE TO PROBLEMS WITH CUSTOMER SUPPLIED PUMPS AND PRODUCTION FLOW ISSUES WE DO NOT ACCEPT CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED PUMPS TO BE INCORPORATED INTO OUR DP SYSTEM NOR DO WE OFFER IT LESS PUMPS. ALL DP SYSTEMS ARE SOLD AS COMPLETE TESTED SYSTEMS.

6. I have a digital dash car. Do you have a 120-ohm level sensor for me?

A. Yes, please specify the digital dash level sender option when ordering your system.

7. What size of fuel lines do you recommend with this system?

A. We recommend conductive PTFE (Teflon) braided -8 feed and a -6 return lines. We do not recommend any type of rubber (braided or not) for use with modern-day fuels. These PTFE (Teflon) lines are more than adequate to support the full performance of this 700 LPH system. Please view our G7 PnP fuel line kits by clicking > HERE <

8. Where is the biggest restriction in the fuel system?

A. The factory steel lines running up the front of the motor.

9. Can I use a volt-booster with your system?

A. Yes, we recommend a voltage booster for increased system voltage which benefits pump performance under WOT only.

10. What brand of fuel pressure regulator do you recommend?

A. Racetronix REG-G7B1 (factory location / best option) or Racetronix REG-FI886BS universal with aftermarket fuel rail configurations.

11. Where do I get support and installation information?

A. All technical and warranty support is now provided by your Racetronix dealer ONLY!

12. What are the performance specs of the DP system?

A. These are the typical test bench specs with 2 x Racetronix RXP340E pumps using stodart solvent @ 20°C:
• 720 LPH @ 43.5psi @ 14.0v @ 26.0A
• 840 LPH @ 43.5psi @ 16.0v @ 30.0A
• 580 LPH @ 80.0psi @ 14.0v @ 32.0A
• 690 LPH @ 80.0psi @ 16.0v @ 36.0A

13. How much HP will this system support in a Turbo Buick?

A. Multiply your HP by 0.42 which will give you the required fuel in LPH with a 20% safety margin. You must consider the flow at your maximum boost pressure. For example, if you base fuel pressure is 43.5PSI and your your regulator increases 1LB of fuel pressure for every 1 LB of boost and you run 20 PSI of boost your maximum fuel pressure would be 63.5PSI. Using the flow data above, confirm that the DP system is able to provide the required flow at your maximum fuel pressure and voltage. This calculation does not factor restrictions in the fuel lines. Since the condition of each system tends to vary it is best to run a return flow test at max fuel pressure once the DP is installed to determine if upgrading the fuel lines is required.

14. Are there higher flowing pumps that I can substitute in this system down the road?

A. Yes. The RXP340E pumps in this system are a robust choice for moderate power levels. However, if your requirements increase, you can upgrade to the Walbro F90000274 (450) or F90000285 (525/Hellcat) pumps. The wiring and fuel hanger infrastructure in this 700 system are fully capable of supporting that upgrade path.

15. I already have an older Racetronix fuel line kit (FLK-G7B2 or FLK-G7B3). Can I use it with this new DPFS module?

A. Older line kits utilizing 45° JIC or EFI female fittings are not directly compatible due to the tight proximity and spacing of the ports on this new module. However, customers can easily adapt these kits by replacing the 45° heads with straight male ORB fittings. For the -6 return side, use part FIT-680706. For the -8 feed (discharge) side, use part FIT-680708. These fittings are listed under the **add-ons** at the bottom of this page. To swap them, simply crack the head of the existing fitting off from the back nut without disturbing the internal olive/ferrule. This allows the new straight ORB heads to be installed without recutting the hose. Note: This method is only supported for Racetronix line kits using Racetronix-brand fittings.

16. Do I need a -10 PTFE feed line to maximize the performance of this 700 LPH system?

A. Unlike the higher-output 1050 model, a -8 PTFE feed line and -6 return line are entirely adequate for this system. While a customer could step up to a -10 line, the performance benefit would be negligible at this flow level. This system is designed to provide massive capability without requiring the "max effort" plumbing needed for the Hellcat-based systems.

17. Do you offer a new fuel line kit that already has the required ORB male fittings to attach to this hanger?

A. Yes. We are introducing a new fuel line kit in April 2026, part number FLK-G7B5. This kit will feature the required -8 and -6 male ORB fittings to attach directly to the fuel pump assembly/hanger, eliminating the need for separate adapters or fitting swaps for this specific module.

18. What if I want to utilize my own custom fuel line setup with AN/JIC fittings, and what type of hose should I use?

A. You can build a custom setup using JIC (commonly termed AN) female hose and fittings. We offer the required ORB-to-JIC adapters under the **add-ons** at the bottom of the page. For a -8 feed line, use part ADF-495104 (-10 ORB male to -8 JIC male). For a -6 return line, use part ADF-495100 (-6 ORB male to -6 JIC male). If constructing a custom -10 feed setup, use part ADF-495106. However, for the most reliable installation, we highly recommend our FLK-G7B5 fuel line kit. This kit provides a complete **plug-in-place** solution using high-quality ORB fittings that connect directly to the hanger, removing the need for extra adapters and simplifying the plumbing process. Regardless of the manufacturer, we strongly recommend steering clear of rubber-lined (CPE) hose. Even if certified for gas or ethanol, CPE liners inevitably deteriorate and crack over time. The only viable long-term solution is **PTFE (Teflon) hose**. Racetronix kits utilize American-made, static-dissipative PTFE hose for maximum safety and longevity.
