per EACH (USD)Bulkhead Ground Stud, 6 mm FKM (Viton) / 304 Stainless Steel
A sealed 6 mm ground pass-through for fuel housings, tanks and panels, compatible with all fuels.
The BHGS-6MSS is the grounding version of our BHS-6MSS bulkhead stud. Instead of PTFE insulators, it uses 304 stainless steel cups, so the stud is electrically bonded to the part it mounts through. FKM (Viton) O-rings seal it against fuel and vapour, giving you a sealed ground connection through the wall of a fuel housing, tank or panel.
This stud does not insulate from the part it is mounted to. For a power feed through a metal wall, use the BHS-6MSS insulated stud instead.
Key features
- 304 stainless steel cups and hardware bond the stud to the mounting wall for a solid ground path.
- FKM (Viton) O-ring seals hold a fuel-tight seal in gasoline and ethanol blends.
- Corrosion resistant stainless construction throughout.
- Compatible with all fuels, including E85.
- Pairs with the BHS-6MSS for a sealed power and ground pass-through.

Installation tips
- Prepare the mounting surface. Both sides must be clean, flat and free of rust and pitting so the O-rings seal and the cups make good metal-to-metal contact for the ground.
- Test-fit the stud. Assemble the two cups through the hole and check that the O-rings are being compressed before the cups meet. The stepped portion of each cup is sized for fairly thick material, and unlike the PTFE insulators on the BHS-6MSS, the stainless cups can’t easily be shortened. Check the fit on thinner material before final assembly.
- Grease the O-rings. Apply a light coat of dielectric silicone grease to the O-rings only, not the metal contact faces.
- Tighten the stud until the O-rings are firmly compressed against both sides of the wall.
Frequently asked questions
What is the BHGS-6MSS used for?
It provides a sealed ground connection through the wall of a fuel housing, tank or panel. Because the cups are stainless steel rather than PTFE, the stud is electrically bonded to the part it mounts to, so you can bring a ground into or out of a sealed enclosure.
How is it different from the BHS-6MSS?
The BHS-6MSS uses PTFE (Teflon) insulators to isolate the stud from the wall, for carrying power. The BHGS-6MSS uses 304 stainless steel cups so the stud connects to the wall, for grounding. Both use FKM (Viton) O-ring seals. Don’t use the BHGS-6MSS for a power feed; it will short to the wall.
What ring terminals fit this stud?
Use 1/4" or M6 ring terminals. A 6 mm stud is 0.236", just under 1/4" (0.250"), so standard 1/4" ring terminals fit it well.
What fuels is it compatible with?
All common fuels, including gasoline, E85 and other ethanol blends. The cups and hardware are 304 stainless steel and the O-ring seals are FKM (Viton).
Do I need any sealant?
No sealant is needed; the FKM O-rings do the sealing. A light coat of dielectric silicone grease on the O-rings is recommended. Keep grease off the metal contact faces so the ground connection stays solid.
