per EACH (USD)PTFE Hose End, 90°, -8 Hose to 5/16" (8 mm) EFI Quick-Connect Male, Black
Puts an EFI quick-connect male directly on -8 PTFE hose, with no adapter.
The Racetronix FIT-P8QDM9056 puts a 5/16" (8 mm) EFI quick-connect male (SAE J2044 style) directly on -8 PTFE hose, with a 90-degree swept-tube bend. Putting the quick-connect on the hose removes the bulky AN-to-quick-connect adapter and an extra joint, which helps in tight spaces. It plugs into a 5/16" (8 mm) female quick-connect.
Key features
- -8 PTFE hose end.
- 5/16" (8 mm) EFI quick-connect male.
- 90° swept-tube body: a bent aluminum tube welded to the end fitting and the hose-end head, so the flow path is a smooth-radius bend.
- E85 compatible.
- 6061-T6 aluminum, black anodized.
The quick-connect seals on its FKM (Viton) O-rings. Push it fully home and check that it is locked before running the fuel system. The hose end seals on the ferrule.

Drawing
Fits Racetronix TFT-1165, TFT-1167, TFT-1168 and TFT-1170 PTFE hose, and industry-standard smooth-bore PTFE hose from other makers such as Vibrant and Fragola. If you are not sure, compare the bore and outside diameter of your hose with ours. It does not fit rubber hose, convoluted PTFE hose or nylon tube; these are not rubber-hose fittings.
How it assembles
The hose end is three parts: the nut, the ferrule (some people call it an olive) and the fitting head with its nipple. The ferrule is included.
- Wrap the cut mark in 3 to 5 layers of masking tape (not electrical tape) and cut the hose square with a thin metal or diamond cutting disc.
- Trim any braid strands flush with the PTFE liner. Slide the nut onto the hose (remove the tape first on black-jacketed TFT-1170B hose and strip the jacket back).
- Fan the braid out evenly, clean the liner and ferrule with brake cleaner, and push the ferrule onto the liner until it bottoms out, with all of the braid outside the ferrule.
- Push the ferrule fully into the nut. Once it is seated it cannot be pulled back out; the hose would have to be re-cut.
- Start the fitting head by hand, then tighten with an aluminum AN wrench until firm. PTFE fittings do not bottom out hex to hex: a small gap is normal.

Frequently asked questions
Will it fit my hose?
It fits Racetronix TFT-1165, TFT-1167, TFT-1168 and TFT-1170 PTFE hose and other industry-standard smooth-bore PTFE hose, such as Vibrant and Fragola. It does not fit rubber hose, convoluted PTFE hose or nylon tube. Compare bore and outside diameter if you are unsure.
Can I reuse it?
The nut and fitting head can be reused, but the ferrule stays on the hose once it is seated. To remake a joint, cut the hose back and use a new ferrule.
Why is there a gap between the hexes?
PTFE hose ends seal by compressing the ferrule, not by bottoming out. A small gap between the hexes is normal.
Is it E85 compatible?
Yes. It is made from 6061-T6 aluminum and black anodized, and works with gasoline and E85.
