HD Hanger Adapter for Weather Pack Harness

Connects an older hotwire harness with a Weather Pack output to a Racetronix HD Turbo Buick hanger

Current Racetronix FPS-G7 EQ-series hangers have a 3-position Metri-Pack 280 connector. Older Racetronix hotwire harnesses and most competitor harnesses still have a 3-position Weather Pack output. This short adapter plugs in between the two, so you can install a new HD hanger without replacing your harness right away.

The adapter gets you running. The HD harness gets you full performance.

Weather Pack connectors are limited to about 20 A. With high-output pumps they can run very warm, cost pump performance and eventually fail. The adapter lets your existing harness power the new hanger, but it can’t raise the rating of your harness’s Weather Pack output.

For high-output pumps, the FPWH-076HD HD harness plugs straight into the EQ-series hanger with no adapter. It has a 630-series relay and fuse holder, 10 AWG wire and a Metri-Pack 280 output, and runs single pumps up to 525 LPH.

Use with a hotwire harness only

This adapter is not designed to power a high-performance fuel pump hanger from the factory fuel pump wiring. Doing so will void all warranties.

Frequently asked questions

Will this work with a competitor’s harness?

Yes, as long as the harness has a 3-position Weather Pack output connector that plugged into the original hanger.

I have the new FPWH-076HD harness and an older Weather Pack hanger. Is this the right adapter?

No. That combination needs the FPAH-077, which goes the opposite direction.

Should I just replace my harness instead?

If you’re running a high-output pump, yes. The FPWH-076HD removes the Weather Pack connection entirely and plugs straight into the hanger. The adapter is a good option when you want to keep your current harness for now.

Can I plug my hanger straight into the factory wiring with this?

No. The adapter is meant to sit between a hotwire harness and the hanger. Factory pump wiring can’t carry the current a high-performance pump needs, and using it this way voids all warranties.
